Updated Cornerstone Prayer Team Policy

Cornerstone's Prayer Team Policy was updated on August 15, 2008. Here's the policy, which describes the purpose, process, and guidelines for the Cornerstone Prayer Team. Please note the revised item in italics.

Purpose of the prayer team
The Cornerstone Prayer Team exists so that its members can serve the church through intercessory prayer, and so that people attending Cornerstone services (and their friends and relatives) can benefit from this prayer ministry.

Process
People submit prayer requests using the Prayer Card in the bulletin each church service, by emailing the prayer team coordinator, or by calling the church prayer line. These requests are compiled and sent via email to prayer team members. Prayer team members then pray for these requests.

Guidelines for membership
A person can join the Cornerstone Prayer Team if he or she:

  • Is currently involved in the Cornerstone body, as evidenced by regular attendance at workship services
  • Has been involved in the body for at least two months
  • Agrees to keep all prayer requests confidential, not discussing them in anyone--including spouses or children--or allowing others to view them on the computer
  • Has made a commitment to pray about all requests that are sent

How to join the prayer team
To join the prayer team, a person can fill out the line provided for this purpose on the prayer request form and place the form on the offering plate. He or she is then contacted by the prayer team coordinator. If the person meets the guidelines for membership, he or she is then added to the list.
